Fur Elise is a Bagatelle in A minor for piano written by Ludwig Van Beethoven in 1810, however it was not published until 1867, long after he died. A Bagatelle is a kind of short composition, usually for piano, and usually not too serious in nature. However, this piece does feature some exciting and dramatic moments once you get past the elegant and light exposition.
Beethoven was a German composer who lived from 1770 to 1827, which was during the Classical era of western art music, and the transition into the Romantic era. As a result, Beethoven's music contained stylistic features of both Classical and Romantic, e.g: the formal structure, predominantly homophonic texture (such as melody with chordal or broken chord accompaniment) and simplicity of the Classical period; the drama, passion and contrasts of the Romantic period.
I have also recorded Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata, First Movement and Rondo in E. You may also like my recording of Chopin Prelude in E Minor No. 4.
