Chopin Prelude in B Minor, No. 6, Op. 28

I have recorded this piece with three different devices and microphones which you can see below, to give an idea of some of the sort of equipment I use during my online piano lessons. In the first video, which I recorded using a Logitech webcam and Zoom H2n microphone, you can see the iPad recording simultaneously in the background. The third video shows a camera angle I frequently use for demonstrations during my online video exchange piano lessons, as it gives a good view of my hand positions and which keys I am playing.  I have compressed the videos to allow quicker streaming and to reduce data usage if you happen to be viewing this on a mobile device.

Prelude No. 6, Opus 28 in B minor was composed by Frederic Chopin as part of a set of 24 Preludes between 1836 and 1839. Each Prelude is written in a different major or minor key, covering all 12 major keys, and all 12 minor keys. Here is another one: Prelude in E minor.

This melancholy piece contains a sonorous bass melody most of the time, only briefly allowing the melody to move into the treble part after the first few bars, before moving back to the bass. For this reason, this piece is a good study in learning how to bring out the left hand, and keep the right hand accompaniment quiet and in the background, which is a good test of coordination.

These videos were recorded in December 2018.
