Am Abend is a piano piece written by German composer and pianist Heinrich Hofmann in 1887, which was during the Romantic era of western art music. "Am Abend" is German for "In the Evening", and it is a warm, tender and lyrical piece depicting the soothing qualities of a day drawing to a close, perhaps the atmosphere of a beautiful sunset.

It is part of a collection of pieces called "Stimmungsbilder" - Mood Pictures.
