L'Harmonie des Anges, or Harmony of the Angels, was written by German pianist and composer Johann Friedrich Franz Burgmuller. A lot of his pieces have French titles because he moved to Paris in 1832 and lived there for the rest of his life.
This piece is from a collection of pieces called "25 Etudes Faciles", and you can listen to another one from this collection here.
This piece requires lightness of touch, and a flowing character, with subtly shaped melodic lines. It benefits from pedal in order to create the ethereal, angelic character. In order to maintain clarity of sound, and avoid an excessively muddy sound, it is best to change the pedal with changes of harmony. It is also advisable to learn the piece without pedal first, so that you can ensure you are using good fingering, and not relying on pedalling to create legato. Pedal should be used to enhance the sound and add sonority rather than to cover up bad technique and inability to do legato fingering. So, once you are able to achieve fluency and legato throughout the piece without pedal, then you can progress to the next step by adding pedal.
