Arabesque was written by German composer J.F.F Burgmuller during the Romantic period. It is no. 2 from a collection of pieces called "25 Etudes Faciles et Progressives". op. 100. The titles are French because Burgmuller settled in Paris while he was in his twenties, and stayed there for the rest of his life.
This is a fast, playful sounding piece of music, and requires a light touch and neat and even semiquavers. It is grade 2 standard, and has been included in the 2019/2020 exam syllabus of ABRSM.
