Flash Cards and Chord Chart - Roman Numeral Chords - Primary Triads in Every Major Key
Flash cards are an effective tool for learning music theory. Use the flash cards to test yourself on the primary chords in each key. E.g. on page 2 of the flash cards, one of the cards says "IV in C major". You have to try and figure out what this is, then play it, or name the notes. The answer to this one is F A C, so you either need to play a chord consisting of F, A and C (and you can also play an extra F in the bass), or say these note names. You can find the answers to all the flash cards on the chord chart, so you can test yourself and then check whether you are getting the answers right.
The flash cards have a different colour for each kind of chord. I.e. chord I in every key is red/pink, chord IV in every key is blue, and chord V in every key is green/turquoise. Many students find that using colour in this way helps them to learn and retain music theory concepts better. However, not everyone learns the same way, and if you would prefer to print these flash cards in black and white, or you don't have access to a colour printer, you can still benefit.
To make the flash cards, print them onto A4 paper, then cut them out.
