PDF download. Fun note naming theory game for children to improve their music reading.
These flash cards provide a fun and educational game for children learning piano. Each flash card contains a group of notes that spell a word once you have worked out the letter names.
Altogether there are sixteen words spelled with musical notes in both treble and bass clef. Print the PDFs onto A4 paper, cut along the dotted lines for guidance, and trim as desired to create the flash cards. Then shuffle them up, show one to your child or student, and get them to work out what word it spells.
Included in the purchase price, three PDFs:
A fun game to play is to get your child or pupil to work out the word on the flash card, then try and “spell” it on the piano by playing the right notes. Over many years of teaching, I have had many younger pupils who have found this to be a fun and encouraging game. It has helped them learn to read music better, and develop more familiarity with the piano keyboard.
