- Broken Chord Study for Piano
This is a piece of music I composed especially for piano students of around grade 2 to 3 level, for the purpose of developing technique - in particular, coordination between the hands, and recognition of common broken chord patterns. This piece consists of a melody in the right hand with flowing broken chordal accompaniment in the left hand. It is mostly in the key of D minor, but uses notes from the natural minor scale (or D aeolian mode), so there are no accidentals. It briefly moves into F major in the middle, before moving back to D minor (or D aeolian). It is 24 bars long, and the PDF download consists of two pages of A4. The sheet music includes dynamics and some fingering. You can listen to a recording of the piece below so that you can find out what it sounds like before purchasing the sheet music:
